I know most of you have seen the 'possible' 2011 Yamaha Yz125 prototype. But how many of you have seen a possible 2011 Honda Cr125 prototype? I found both of these at: onthepiperacing.com/news.php

Good one two fives. Someone spent alot of money on that Honda. I am going to rebuild the motor on a 2003 YZ125 this weekend. They are so easy to work on. Thats another two stroke plus. Two stroke news. Projecttwo50. A guy will be racing a YZ250 at six rounds of the 2010 AMA Nationals. I will be chearing him on at Freestone. Check on his ride \/ \/ \/ projecttwo50.com/the-machine/

Why won't anyone try to configure efi into a 2 stroke?? I guarantee it would bring them back to life! I mean, they have serious throttle response now, imagine that 2x and injection would make at least 4 more horse power on a motor with twice the firing of a 4 stroke and the light wieght would be a riders fantasy!
No one else is talkin so I thought id try too. Lol

I did a little prying yesterday in an effort to uncover some news about an EFI Two Stroke KTM. At this point I can neither confirm or deny the possibility of an upcoming EFI Smoker. However, I will say that the popularity of the 300XC and the 250SX are undeniable.
From a marketing standpoint, KTM (as well as the big 4) are in an interesting predicament. Due to the weak economy, motorcycle sales are way down. All across the country dealers are closing their doors and the manufacturers are stuck with 2, 3 and even 4 year old NEW inventory that dealers could not move. The solution has been to drastically cut production for 2011 and beyond.
The outcome of this solution is to potentially drive demand up and in the process maximize profits for each unit sold. For example, I have been getting call after call from people trying to get their hands on a 2011 KTM250XC. Only one bike has even been delivered to the entire state for 2011 and it's unlikely there will be any more. I have called dealers in every state around me trying to get my hands on at least one more. From California to Colorado they just laugh. The guy that actually gets the golden opportunity to purchase one will likely pay well over retail for it.
This will likely become the norm as we creep along through this recession. As for the EFI 2 strokes, if demand is there, KTM will likely build it. It certainly looks promising. More details to come...
