Holy moly. I can't believe the hype coming in 2011! i mean we got some huge contenders and race winning threats in the lites classes. then the new depth of the big boys is incredible. i havent been this excited since i watched pastrana do a heel clicker ten feet from me at a local track, broke his wrist, and still won his 125 outdoor title! canard grant or of course windham are my top choices for success this year! its going to be pic!

Dirtman, where have you been? I read today something about Chad Reed starting his own race team for 2011. Rumors are he will be on Hondas?
Also the Hart and Huntington team is rumored to be changing things up with a mfg change. Kawasaki for the H&H boys?

Hahaha. I know. I been seriously mia. It sucks but I'm a workin man again. First job since may 2009! Lol. But I gotta do what I can for my wife. Other then that we are beggining to move across town here. I got a new phone and its got internet. That's how I'm doing this. But as soon as we get in the new place its gametime! I work 2:30pm - 11pm mon - fri. So I'm up for some morning and late nights when I can. Lol.
Chad reed is for sure on his own team. I'm actually planning to go to the corona test tracks on Thursday. Especially the kawi and honda camps. I'm soooo pumped for the racing coming up. Going to be a year with serious dramatics. For sure.
Anyone else got any top 3 picks before we see any kinda racing?

www.racerxonline.com/video/jeremy-mcgrath-supercross.aspxInteresting to hear MC's perspective. I'd have to say that I agree with him on pretty much everything he says. ;D Reed having his own team will be interesting... Reed is used to being catered too... he is used to showing up to a race and that's it, and he is also used to being able to have someone to blame when things go wrong. It will be interesting with him being a team manager / owner / racer... and having to make sure that all 8(?) of his employee's are doing what they are supposed to. Suprising Pourcel is holding out... with time ticking away, he may end up without a ride, all because of money. To me, seems better to get some money than no money. I don't think the industry is doing that well to pay him that amount of money.

Im with you mike. Just like when reed helped with getting the superx in australia where it is, hes in for a big suprise. Like i said i think honda really should have put it all on the table and handed reed a bike. But business ends are understandable. Speaking of teams, any updates on jason lawrences team? I'm curious if he has one and if so, is it just him or a couple others to run the black n white badass bike? Pourcel outta look into that. I like the shots of byrne back on a suzuki. I think he has ridden his best on the hannah montana hair colored machine. Looking for a solid top 7 overall from him to get things back on track this year. Also, I know its brayton, but who else is riding for jgr? Got a feeling a honda rider will win the series. No matter which one, I just got a gut feeling.... maybe I just need to drop a deuce. Lol

honda aint gonna win a series, canard will crash out and we all know what josh grant can do, thats go fast one race and then fall off the face of the earth the next 3 races. a will to win and a big heart is what wins championships and the only ones that have that are dungey and villopoto. reed just has lost it i believe, i mean look at how bad he did in the nationals, a bike cant make up for heart. hell, look at ricky, he won on everything he through a leg over. even when he was on a honda, remember how he use to run his bars so low and his seat height was really low too with no rebound in the rear shock at all and he still won. i believe the champion will be yellow or green but not red. sorry all you honda lovers but thats the way it is.

I don't know sloey. You know honda has no problem with chad riding at the test track. Maybe alongside canard and grant won't happen but them 3 along with windham makes honda look really solid for race wins and with experience comes consistancy. Canard is coming off a hard fought outdoor series that came down to nothing but consistant results. He had great results during his trial run in the big bikes last year. Grant basically missed a whole year. He refreshed and on a familiar bike now. Championship wise you may be right. Not likely to be honda outside of reed or possibly windham. As for other brands its between dungey rv and stewart. But starts are going to be huge and canard is probably the smallest guy out there. I have a good feeling for metcalfe getting a few podiums too.

I don't think Honda will win any championships this year. Canard will be fast and consistent I think, basically they found another Short... Speaking of Short... for the 6 years that he raced for them he never finished outside of the top 3 in points standings (to my knowledge)... so why get rid of your most consistent rider?
Grant shows flashes of speed, but he is far from being consistent, nor do I think that he has the ability to pull a championship. Since Grant raced for Honda of Houston before going to Geico, I have heard the same thing, that Grant is an extremely hard person to work for, and blames everything on the bike and the mechanic. I guess we will see...
Short going to KTM I believe is a great move for him. I expect the same consistency that he always has and maybe some new found confidence with a new team, plus... Decoster knows how to "make" champions.
Again, I don't think that Reed is going to do all that well this year, I think it will be quite a struggle for him actually, MC said it was hard for him starting up his own team and he had full factory support. Reed is the type of person that is used to being catered too, not the type of person that has to worry about other things besides racing. Though it would be dumb not to bet that he will win a race or two.
I don't see anything coming from Stroupe, Millsaps, Tedesco, or Weimer for that matter... I think they will all be fast and finish well here and there, but unless ALL of the top guys crash out... I don't see them winning any time soon. Though Weimer is usually much better in SX and I believe he has Alden Baker as a trainer now... so we'll see.
I think RV will do good, but I don't think that he will win the championship, unless the RV that was beating Dungey last year shows up to round 1. Though I think it is unlikely since it normally takes him halfway being into the season to find his groove. Personally I think he should sit out of SX... I am DIEING to see what he can do OUTDOORS! Also, I don't think RV has found his "confidence" in the 450 class yet, meaning: when he was on a lites bike he expected to win, now... I don't think he has that mind state anymore....
Stewart is Stewart... he is crazy fast, though I think he has too many distractions in his life, and I think Larry Brooks is a bad team manager... I mean, you have by far one of the fastest riders in the world, and you encourage them not to race but 5 months out of the year?? Makes no sense... in order for racres to stay on that "competitive edge" they have to race...
Stewart deffinatly has the ability to win the championship, I do not think it will be a walk in the park, but he has the ability to win when he wants to.
Dungey WILL be a force to be recogned with... He has the speed and the consistency, and access to everything that made RC the GOAT, including Ricky Carmichael himself.
I think Dungey is a lot like Carmichael, he is faster outdoors than he is indoors, so it will be interesting to see how it all pans out.
Just like the Lites class this past year, there are going to be so many people running close lap times if not the same lap times that it will really change some things up. The start will deffinatly be key, I agree with MC when he said that it is not going to be a Stewart and Reed show anymore. There are going to be a ton of fast guys out there.
Word is that Pourcel is trying to start his own team because he is not getting the amount of money that he wants, there is also lots of rumor that he will sit out of the entire SX series. Seeing how it is that there is now only a month and a halfish till A1 and he isn't even on a bike or a team. I don't know what that guy is thinking. Though if he does show up, he is Mr. Smooth and Consistant, so that would deffinatly make for some interesting racing.
I am looking forward to the 450 class this year... it is the most stacked that it has EVER been, so should make for some good racing, and some heavy dissapointments.

I don't know guys.... I still feel like honda as a whole will have a pretty good year. I'd bet honda has a bike on 14 outta 17 rounds this year. Plus I'm excited because windham has almost never done off season races except the open and mxon. At least to my knowledge. Lol. Canard will be fighting for wins. Its the outdoors I don't expect much of him. He's a little dude for that bigga bike in the rough terrains. Plus a muddy sx might hinder his points drastically for the same reason. None the less I'm pumped bout it all. So far having the opener party at my place. Surrond sound on a 90" projector screen. Gotta love it. Lol. Woot woot. WINDHAM FOR 2011 SX CHAMPION!!!!!!!!

Kevin Windham won Geneva, Italy Supercross on a Honda with no problem he went 1-1 against some heavy euro competition. Barcia and MC were there too. Check it out. www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmngdnapKC4&feature=player_embedded Josh Hanson and Matt "Beef" Georke also won over the weekend both of them were on Kawasakis.

ehh, I think quite the opposite, I think Canard will do better outdoors than indoors, SX has never been his strong point. Though I am not saying Canard will do bad in SX, I just think like anyone else, this will be his Rookie season in SX, and as there is for anyone, there is a big learning curve.
NOT taking anything away from dungey, but I believe that if JS7, CR22, and RV2 would have stayed healthy last year, the story would have went a little different for Dungey... but those guys didn't stay healthy, and that's a part of racing... I'm just saying that no matter how good someone has done in the lites, the big bikes are a different story. I mean, look at RV2, by far one of the fastest people ever on a 250F, and had the championships to back it... and still doesn't have a title under his belt.
Grant has the speed (sometimes), but is not a consistent rider... never has been. I think in his entire proffessional carreer of racing, he has only completed one full season(?) and I think it was an outdoor series. JG has always gotten injured, even the year he was battling with Millsaps on the Lites for a SX title he got hurt. SO I don't expect much from him.
